Gallipoli

Gallipoli called the ancient Kale' Polis (beautiful town) is today an important international tourist centre where you can find wonderful beaches in the day and a multitude of clubs at night for your funny stay.

There is an old part with the castle situated on a little island, connected through a bridge to the new town.

In Gallipoli you can find ancient alleyways, a typical fish-market, churches and also amny palaces, for example Palazzo del Seminario, Palazzo Balsamo, Palazzo Pirelli, Palazzo del governatore, Palazzo Tafuri and the Cathedral of Sant'Agata.

Very important to visit is also the Church of S. Francesco, Church of the Cross, Church of S. Domenico, Church of the Puerità.

Gallipoli is especially known for its beaches and its beautiful see. We suggest you Lido Pizzo, Punta della Suina, Lido San Giovanni, Baia Verde.

For this reason in the new town you can find a lot of Hotels, bars and restaurant, where you can taste the local food, specially fish.

In Gallipoli for example you can eat “La scapece”, fish made with bread and vinegar.
